As a candidate for election to the ITC Board of Directors it’s my pleasure to submit my qualifications. For the past eighteen years I have been an officer and member of The Theosophical Society in America Abraxas Lodge. I facilitate study groups, host guest speakers and develop, market and present programs for our membership and the public at large, always with the goal of sharing and applying theosophy in our daily lives. Tom Kehoe of the Philadelphia ULT and I co-facilitate Study Groups at Abraxas based on the living power of theosophy as reflected in the common core teachings of H.P.B. and William Q. Judge. I’m a Mentor for the Theosophical Society Prison Program, and actively involved in the TOS locally through the homeless outreach non-profit I co-founded. In 2013 I attended my first ITC Conference in New York. I was struck by the vibrancy, creativity, commitment and service of this international group and immediately knew I wanted to be part of this contemporary expression of the theosophical movement. I was the local coordinator for the ITC in Philadelphia.
The age in which we find ourselves is a time of climate change, pollution, economic and social injustices, political polarization, misinformation and inequality; it’s also a time ripe for theosophy. Theosophical principles are a lighthouse for humanity that must be shared if we are to move forward in universal brotherhood. For me, ITC is a vital platform to disseminate theosophy and take it to the masses with international support. It’s a place to meet fellow students of theosophy from different backgrounds, work together, share experiences, study together and inspire each other.
I’ve experienced the organic growth of ITC and now see it poised to go forth and serve humanity with well-thought out and mutually developed initiatives. Much has been achieved in recent years, and still there’s much more work to be done in the future. It’s been suggested that a big part of the tasks for the Board in the coming years will be strengthening the working relationship between itself and the membership, optimizing and streamlining communication and targeting areas where our members can be actively involved in the work. I would be honored to be a Board Member and bring my marketing, communications and non-profit background and the love of theosophy and commitment that I hold dear in my heart to help lead and serve wherever I am needed.
