About Flip

Theosophical Background

My name is Philip Wiskie, a member of the T.S. Point Loma group Blavatsky house and Chairman of the I.S.I.S. Foundation (International Study Center for Independent Search for Truth). The I.S.I.S. Foundation is responsible for organizing theosophical lectures, Universal Wisdom courses, and an annual Theosophical Symposium in Dutch and English. The foundation is also the publisher of the magazine Lucifer, which is published in Dutch, English, Portuguese,
and Spanish.

I lecture on Theosophy, lead Theosophical study groups, and teach Theosophical courses. I am one of the printers for our publications and our magazine Lucifer.

Views on International Theosophy Conferences and the ITC Board

My ideal vision for the ITC is that it serves as a universal platform, that protects and preserves the Theosophical Principles, as given by the Masters through H.P. Blavatsky, as a living force within the intellectual sphere of humanity. Not as a dogma, but rather by studying the Principles,
practicing them, and gaining experience or, in other words, gaining insights into how the Principles can influence and elevate humanity’s daily life. To this end, it is important to unite a worldwide group of inspired Theosophists to teach and pass on Theosophy. And Theosophy is thus also the core of Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, the Greek Myths, etc. And that is why the Principles — especially those given in The Secret Doctrine by H.P.B. — must be central.

These Principles are our touchstones, with which we uncover the core of those Wisdom Traditions, strip away the trappings in which they are wrapped, and allow everyone to apply their religious understanding within their own tradition.

These principles are in itself the ‘Golden Keys'. We as Theosophists, have the responsibility to keep these pure and simple. And above all, stand for it.

Hence, I see ITC as a group of Theosophists who are willing to learn and live these Principles. By living out the insights gained from them and spreading them as a practical, ethical wisdom-religion. Through cross-pollination, exchange in study groups, and bringing the fruits of this back into today’s world.

We should not strive for one single Theosophical organization, but for unity in the proper spirit of brotherhood, so that we may inspire all of humanity with its diverse traditions.

As Theosophists, we have a responsibility to lay the foundation of the future Religion based on the Principles and Ethics. A Wisdom-Religion upon which the spiritual and intellectual inspiration and liberation of humanity can take place. The Theosophical Movement was founded by the Masters to reveal and unveil the Heart-teachings of the Ancient Wisdom Religions, not to replace them.

Hence the call ITC makes to serve as a platform enabling all Theosophists, from all Theosophical organizations, to collaborate. No one needs to leave their own organization but rather supports ITC in bringing Theosophy into the future, purely and simply, as we have received it from the Masters, for the benefit of mankind.

ITC Worldwide

After 150 years of modern Theosophy worldwide, it is precisely at this time that it is important that there is a group of theosophists united in spirit, who join their forces to spiritually vitalize the spiritual VISION of the Unity of all Life as a fact in Nature.

ITC is not only a platform for all Theosophists and Theosophical organizations but above all a platform for the spiritual well-being of all people.

As a board member, I want to make an effort to fulfill ITC’s purposes by creating an open platform where all Theosophists and Theosophical organizations can freely discuss Theosophia based on the teachings of the Masters and H.P.B.

About Sieglinde

I am a member of the Theosophical Society Point Loma (TSPL) – German Section since 1981 (since 2009 president of the German Section) and a member of ITC  since 2010 when I had joined for the first time an International Theosophical Conference in The Hague. ITC expressed with its purposes exactly what always was my deep wish: to harmonize and create an atmosphere of cooperation and brotherhood between all the different theosophical lines in the Theosophical movement. To have a fruitful exchange of ideas and learn from each other how to spread the Theosophia in an always better way and make Theosophy a living factor in this world, which needs it so much.

Working on the bylaws and the purposes together with my colleagues of various theosophical organizations, realizing that a brotherly cooperation is always  possible was a very inspiring experience, as each of us did not even notice, that we were coming from different backgrounds, but worked together in an atmosphere of understanding and respect. Therefore, unity in diversity was always a central point of our work.

I am opting now for my fourth term of service at the Board of Directors as I think, continuity and experience in preparing the Conferences is always of help. My  service at the Board can contribute to this. Until now I have worked at various conferences translating to Spanish and Portuguese and in earlier years also as facilitator. Do always, what is needed, is what I try to do as good as possible.

About Elton

On the recommendation of Prof. Raghavan Iyer, I read Isis Unveiled, The Secret Doctrine and The Voice of the Silence while teaching in Minnesota between 1967-69. The Voice made me realize that my professional goals were illusory and secondary to the great question of the two paths.

Returning to Santa Barbara, I joined the ULT Lodge there and became active in the work. This includes editorial work and (anonymous) written contributions to  Hermes (1975-89) and Concord Grove Press. More recently, I have written for Vidya, contributed to The Theosophist, Theosophy Trust and various Theosophical activities in the Ukraine, and have made presentations at International Theosophical Conferences meetings.

After teaching philosophy and world religions at the university and college level for 40 years, I am now retired and continue to work for Universal Sisterhood and Brotherhood. Currently, I am a member of the ITC Board and would be privileged to serve another term.
